It’s a neat little look at the development of the theme and I appreciate getting to look at that. LEGO has released a bunch of resources for the LEGO Friends anniversary including some great sketches and images of prototype designs. It was a great way to celebrate the past and add something cool to collect for fans. Why is the Ninjago 10th anniversary set 5 times the size, with a version of every main character, and targeted at an older builder?įor the Ninjago anniversary we were also given golden minifigures spread across a lineup of legacy sets that paid homage to the history of the theme. It is marked as a 14+ set and contains a version of all the main Ninjago characters. It contains 5685 pieces and 19 minifigures. For the Ninjago 10th anniversary the big set was 71741 Ninjago City Gardens. It contains 1114 pieces and 4 minidolls, is labelled as an 8+ set and contains 2 of the 5 main Friends characters. The key 10th anniversary set is 41703 Friendship Tree House. Particularly when you compare it to the Ninjago 10th anniversary in 2021. I was super excited for the anniversary and now that we have seen what’s happening I am just… underwhelmed. I genuinely think it’s the best overall LEGO theme. While I may not the primary demographic for the theme I am an unapologetic Friends fan. The investigation of the shoplifter is ongoing.Am I the only one unimpressed with the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Friends? Officers arrested the 67-year-old store owner for trafficking in stolen property and booked him into King County Jail.
Using RFID tags and unique identification numbers, the loss prevention representative identified 34 of the products as originating in his store, valued at more than $2,000. Police seized thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen merchandise, including 171 Lego sets. Through additional undercover work, police determined the owner was knowingly trafficking stolen goods, and on Friday officers served a warrant at the store. While the detective was at the store, the prolific shoplifter arrived and sold multiple items to the shop’s owner.
He notified police, and a detective went to the store to investigate. The loss prevention supervisor entered the store and found many of the items still had RFID tags on them, indicating they had been previously stolen from his business. In early September, an employee from the targeted business spotted a store in the 1500 block of Pike Place, which seemed to be stocked with many of the same LEGO sets and electronics which had been shoplifted from his store. Employees helped police identify the shoplifter and detectives began an investigation. The loss prevention employee estimated the suspect stole more than $10,000 worth of products between July and September. The business’ loss prevention representative told police a suspect had repeatedly stolen LEGO sets - frequently making off with Star Wars, and specifically “The Mandalorian” sets, in his heists. The investigation - dubbed Operation: MandalOrganized Retail Theft - began in late July, when a downtown retailer contacted police regarding a repeat shoplifter. Police arrested a downtown store owner and recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen goods after a prolific thief, and a determined security guard, led investigators to disassemble a LEGO trafficking operation brick by brick.
